Day 1: Arrival at Leh/ Ladakh Airport, Leisure Day for acclimatisation with Ladakh Weather
First Day is complete rest and leisure in order to acclimatise with Ladakh weather. Funstay representative will be there to receive you as soon as you land on Leh/Ladakh airport. Waiting taxi at the airport will take you to hotel for check In. Small visit in the evening to Leh Local Market & Shanti Stupa. Overnight stay and dinner at the Hotel/Guest House
Day 2: Ladakh Local Sight Seeing, Hall of Fame, Spituk Gompa, Magnetic Hill
Sightseeing will start after breakfast, we will drive towards Kargil road to Hall of Fame museum near Leh Airfield. It was constructed by the Indian Army in the memory of the soldiers who had lost their lives during the Indo-Pak wars. After museum, next spot is the must visit Kali Mata Temple. This temple is the only temple in the world, co-located with a Gompa, Spituk Gompa (Budha monastery). Situated at a distance of 8 km. from Leh town Spituk Gompa is a 3 chapel monastery, built during the 11th century by Od-de, the elder brother of Lha Lama Changchub. Today, it is home to 100 monks as well. The giant statue of goddess Kali is shown to the public during the yearly Spituk festival. 25 km. from Leh town is the Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, nestled deep in the Himalayan valleys. It was built in 1517 by Lamas of Leh to commemorate the visit of Guru Nanak Dev. Another 4 km. drive will take us to gravity defying Magnetic Hill. The science behind the phenomenon is still unknown. Park your vehicle at the base of the hill, unlock the brakes and enjoy the magic of watching your vehicle moving uphill slowly on its own. Feel yourself being equipped with the divine superpowers of this place. Driving ahead through picturesque landscapes will take you to the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar river, 4 km. before Nimmu village. Night stay at hotel and enjoy your dinner with memoirs of Day-2.
Day 3: Khardung-la Pass, Nubra Valley and Hunder Monastery
After an early breakfast we will drive to NUBRA VALLEY. The drive will lead through KHARDUNG-LA the highest motor able road in the world at 18,390 ft, around 39kms from Leh. Popularly known as Ldorma or the valley of flowers, Nubra valley is situated to the North of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. In the afternoon we will visit to Hunder Gompa in Hunder village. It is one of the remote villages in the Ladakh district and is close to the border between India and Pakistan in the north-western part of Ladakh. The population at Hunder comprises mainly of Ladakhi and Tibetan settlers. You can also enjoy a camel safari in the sand dunes (Optional on direct payment basis). Night stay in Nubra.
Day 4: Return to Leh via Diskit Monastery, Leh Local Market
Enjoy breakfast at the camp, start return drive to Leh with en-route visit to Diskit Monastery, also known as Deskit or Diskit Gompa. It is the oldest and largest Buddhist monastery in the Nubra Valley. It was established by Changzem Tserab Zangpo, a disciple of Tsong-kha-pa. An illustration of the Tashilhunpo Gompa of Tibet is a prime attraction at Diskit Monastery. There are also numerous shrines inside the monastery premises, like Kangyu-lang, Tsangyu-lang, etc. The monastery is also a storehouse for hundreds of Mongolian and Tibetan texts. Diskit Gompa has its share of legends too, it was once believed to be occupied by a Mongol demon, a sworn enemy of Buddhism. Evening can be enjoyed with a leisurely walk to the local market. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 5: Pangong Lake, Shey Palace, Changla Pass
After an early morning breakfast, a 5-6 hours enchanting drive to Pangong Lake with en-route visit to Shey Palace & Thiksey Gompa. Shey palace was once a residence of royal family. Thiksey Gompa is one of the largest and architecturally most impressive Gompas in Ladakh. It is a legendary drive over ChangLa Pass, the 3rd highest motorable pass in the world at 5,360m (17,590ft). Pangong lake, situated 14,000 ft. is the highest salt water Lake in the World and is shared by two countries India & China. Changing colors and fascinating high altitude lake on the Banks of Pangong will leave you in awe of nature. It has been opened to tourists few years back and visit to the lake and its surrounding is carried out under army surveillance. Enjoy the lunch at backdrop of mesmerizing landscapes. It will be the closest feel of the mother nature you will ever get. Evening is at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at Pangong
Day 6: Return to Leh / Hemis Monastery
Day 7: Rest / Leisure Day
